Lourdes Fernandez, Jewelry
Designer and Artist
Lourdes is a first generation Cuban-American born and raised
in Miami, Florida. In 2006, she received her Bachelors of Fine Art (BFA) from The Corcoran College of Art + Design in
Washington D.C. She then went on to complete her Masters of Fine Art, with a concentration in Sculpture, from the Cranbrook
Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, in 2008. After receiving her Masters degree, she began private courses with
Silversmith Ana Esther Soued in Hollywood, Florida. It was under the guidance of Esther Soued that Lourdes learned the basics
to silversmithing and became inspired with jewelry design. She holds three diplomas in Jewelry Technician, Wax, Carving and
Casting, and Stone Setting from the Miami Jewelry School in Coral Gables, FL. Lourdes studied under the instruction of Master
Jeweler Marc Thurn. Currently, Lourdes lives and works in Miami.
